Ontologies, Omics, and One Health
MISSION
Our mission is to advance global health by developing and promoting standardized, interoperable data specifications for pathogen contextual data — integrating ontologies, omics data, and One Health principles to enable seamless collaboration, data sharing, and actionable insights across disciplines and borders.

VISION
A world where pathogen data is harmonized, accessible, and contextually rich—empowering researchers, public health professionals, and policymakers to respond swiftly and effectively to infectious disease threats through a unified, data-driven One Health approach.
METHODS
Our framework, built on ISO standards and OBO Foundry principles, organizes standardized terms into reusable modules. By leveraging controlled vocabularies and semantic relationships, it supports interoperability, machine-readability, and rapid specification development.
TOOLING
Addressing inconsistent and fragmented datasets requires practical implementation strategies that go beyond theory, including but not limited to: data harmonization tools, interchange formats, and specification schemas. Together, these resources operationalize specifications, enabling scalable data harmonization, streamlined data exchange, and more reliable public health decision making.
